Endowed Chairs
The purpose of the Endowed Chair is to activate and enrich both cducation and research in the university by the foundation from corporations. In 1987, the first Endowed Chair in Japanese national universities was opened in RCAST. Fifteen Chairs have been opened since then, and many researchers have been invited mainly from overseas as professors, associate professors, of research fellows, contributing to the activation of the existing research fields, the development of the new fields, and the education in the graduate school.
