Research Interests

Mechanical property and performance of materials are strongly influenced by their microstructure especially at their most basic structural and functional length scales. Prof. Inoue's research interests include experimental characterization and analysis of defects, deformation and fracture in structural metals and alloys, and metal-metal and metal-matrix composites. Current research activities focus primarily on the effect of microstructure and metallurgical property on reliability of novel high-strength and high-toughness steels.
