Research Interests

Our project is to develop assistive technology using mainstreamICT, such as tablet PCs and the Internet. This approach aimsat promoting the use of assistive technology globally includingdeveloping countries. Technology empowers not only the physicalaspect but also the psychological aspect of the user; helping themto achieve greater self - confidence and find their potential forgreater success, which will promote positive views towards socialdiversity.The main themes include:
(1) Development of ICT - based assistive technology for learning
(2) Development of assistive technology for severe and multipledisabilities using computer vision
(3) Communication support system in care settings using mobilephones and the Internet
(4) Development of assistive technology for developing countriesand minority languages
