Project Research Associate Takumi Kinoshita wins the Young Researcher Oral Presentation Award


   Project Research Associate Takumi Kinoshita (Academic-Industrial Joint Laboratory for Renewable Energy) has been received the Young Researcher Oral Presentation Award in 26th IUPAC International Symposium on Photochemistry. In this award, the presentation:"Wideband dye-sensitized solar cells employing singlet-triplet transitions" is honored.

About research

  Toward efficient solar energy utilization, an energy conversion device that realizes the high performance with low-cost is much anticipated. Since the sunlight contains wide range of lights from visible light to invisible near-infrared, in order to harvest energy efficiently in low-cost, it requires various breakthroughs. In this study, we have developed a new material that can absorb both visible and near-infrared light with one type of molecule, and succeeded in generating the highest photocurrent value for a dye-sensitized solar cell reported to date. We also realized high energy conversion efficiency that is almost equal to that of the existing silicon solar cell by creating a hybridized device in conjunction with a perovskite solar cell.
