Research Interests

Today's energy supply is dominated mainly by fossil fuels. However, the increasing need for alternative sources necessitated a move to renewable technologies. We target ultra highly efficient and cost effective solar cells based on emerging materials. Research includes, (1) Advanced material characterization of intermediate bands in bandgap, and inherent electronic properties in new III-V semiconductors, (2) Design and fabrication of intermediate band solar cells (IBSC), and (3) Analysis of photoelectric conversion processes involving multiple bands and defects.

Keywords

Intermediate band solar cell, Dilute nitride semiconductors, Intermediate bands and Defect analysis
