Research Interests

Our project is to develop assistive technology using mainstream ICT, such as tablet PCs and the Internet. This approach aims at promoting the use of assistive technology globally including developing countries. Technology empowers not only the physical aspect but also the psychological aspect of the user; helping them to achieve greater self - confidence and find their potential for greater success, which will promote positive views towards social diversity.The main themes include:
(1) Development of ICT - based assistive technology for learning
(2) Development of assistive technology for severe and multiple disabilities using computer vision
(3) Communication support system in care settings using mobile phones and the Internet
(4) Development of assistive technology for developing countries and minority languages
