Research Interests

Optoelectronic devices are studied, including semiconductor lasers, light emitting diodes, photovoltaic cells, optical switches, and photonic integrated circuits, as well as their applications to energy and information/communication systems. Main subjects of current research are as follows:
(1) metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy( MOVPE) and micro /
nano fabrication technologies for group III nitride, InP, and
GaAs based compound semiconductor quantum structures,
(2) development of large scale and fast matrix optical switches,
(3) exploration of digital photonic integrated circuits,
(4) micro-opto-electro-mechanical systems( MOEMS),
(5) optical interconnect,
(6) photonic networking,
(7) development and application of post-silicon ultra-high
efficiency solar cells.
