Research Interests

The research focus of our laboratory is to explore the capability of large-scale integrated VLSI(Very Large Scale Integratio) sensors systems. We purpose is to fabricate "intelligent" sensors, realized by microfabrication onto VLSI circuits. The VLSI circuits becomes the "brain" of the sensor, allowing interaction between the sensing part and the outside world. Thanks to integration, systems become very small, and thus portable. Our application interests are chemical and biological environment studies. Chemical analysis inside non-opened containers (likea closed bottle of wine) as well as measurements at the level of biological cells are among our interests. Wireless power and communication is another aspect of this research.
