  Regulation of body heat production by high order chromatin structure
  -Signal sensing protein regulates dynamic chromatin structure
  A research group at the University of Tokyo have demonstrated that, in
  addition to previously known transcription factor-mediated gene
  expression, rapid conformational change of higher order chromatin
  structure is required to maintain body temperature in cold conditions.

*[Award] Emeritus Professor Toshiro Fujita (Division of Clinical
  Epigenetics) has been awarded a prestigious Purple Ribbon Medal for the
  discovery of the novel mechanism for high salt-induced hypertension and
  renal diseases.

*[Latest research] Prof. Kanzaki (Intelligent Cooperative Systems) and
  an international team awarded a Research grant from the Human Frontier
  Science program.

  [2015 Komaba Research campus OPEN HOUSE] KOMABA Research campus
  Together with the Institute of Industrial Science, RCAST will hold the
  KOMABA Research Campus Open House on June 5 and 6. RCAST opens its
  research institute, which is usually closed to the public, to share our
  research activities with experts and the general public.  24 of our
  laboratories will be open to visitors during the event.
