Research Interests

I'm conducting research on measuring physical quantities with MEMS (microelectromechanical systems), understanding the surrounding environment and human behavior based on the measured values, and supporting human activities with mechanical systems.

(1) MEMS based on physical phenomena in the micro region.
Methods of constructing MEMS sensors to measure physical quantities such as light, pressure, and strain. Applications to the measurement of infrared radiation emitted by humans, changes in atmospheric pressure due to motion, and contact forces with the environment.

(2) Coaxial imaging system for color and thermal images and coaxial image recognition
Cameras that can capture visible and infrared images from the same viewpoint on the same optical axis. Recognition of invisible objects such as glass using coaxial images.

(3) Mobility support robot for overcoming physical obstacles when going out
Wheelchair-type mobility robots that are compatible with escalators, low-floor buses, and other public transportation systems.
