France’s National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and RCAST entered into a general agreement on May 24, 2012, to collaborate on research and development of new energies such as next-generation solar energy technology. Through the international alliance program at CNRS, the Laboratoire International Associe (LIA) Next PV office was established at RCAST in October 2012 as a center for the research. The center will focus on expanding collaboration on new energies, including biomass and hydrogen energy in addition to solar energy, in collaboration with laboratories and research institutions from within and beyond the University. - CNRS-RCAST Joint Research -The University of Tokyo, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST)These laboratories are involved in the RCAST International Research Center for Global Energy and Environmental Technologies (Solar Quest) initiative in addition to their own research projects, which they conduct jointly with various institutions from within the University and beyond.
Laboratories engaged in related solar energy research Nakano Laboratory (Professor Yoshiaki Nakano, Information Devices) Okada Laboratory (Professor Yoshitaka Okada, New Energy) Segawa Laboratory (Professor Hiroshi Segawa, Energy and the Environment) Departments involved in current research projects Graduate School of Engineering Institute of Industrial Science Organization for Interdisciplinary Research Projects (GS+I Corporate Sponsored Research Program) Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS)CNRS-coordinated consortiums made up of numerous research institutions and enterprises will contribute to the initiative.
