Research Interests

Nowadays, large quantities of biological data are being accumulated with the development of methods such as microarrays and parallel sequencing technology. Epigenetic information related to transcription factor binding or histone modification, can be obtained in addition to genetic information. We have developed the combined method of chromatin immunoprecipitation and sequencing (ChIP- Seq) for TP53 and various histone modifications. To deal with the derived multi-layered data, we have begun to develop new algorithms and computational systems.
1) Processing of epigenetic data
We precisely set the parameters to match the biological features. allowing us to find biological "meaning" beneath muliti-layered epigenetic data.
2) Three dimensional interaction within genome
Activated genes and transcription factor bindings are occasionally assembled and interacted. We also have begun to view and recognize these interactions.
