Developing human resources who can make well-being people and cities
Japan's social challenges are becoming increasingly complex, while the strength of local associations such as residents' associations is declining and administrative resources are limited. In order to solve these issues, there is an urgent need to develop coordinating personnel who see the region from a cross-sectional perspective and encourage partnerships and collaboration between multiple actors with different interests. For this reason, there is a growing social need for non-governmental and nonprofit intermediary support organizations to establish partnerships that transcend the vertical divisions between industry, government and the private sector, plan means of solving social issues together, and participate in this process themselves in order to solve problems.
Many people are advocating this, but it is difficult to replicate and socially implement the coordinating functions fulfilled by good coordinators, and this is a difficult task in any field. Therefore, in order to address these issues, the aim of this research division is to develop indicators of the qualities required of regional coordinators of children's places and coordinators of public-private partnerships in regions across sectors, develop training programs, and implement these in society.
There is a wide range of expectations of regional coordinator personnel. However, there is a lack of research and education on what kind of human resource development is required to fulfill these expectations at an outstanding level. In this research division, we aim to develop human resources who can provide functions below through international and regional comparative research.
- identifying social issues in the region and analyzing their background structure
- actively collaborating and build relationships of trust with the various stakeholders involved in the social issues in question and share the same philosophy
- secure the financial resources needed to solve the issues
- co-create short, medium and long-term plans for solving the issues
- building partnerships and trust and sharing principles
- securing the financial resources needed to solve problems
- co-creating short-, medium- and long-term planning for problem-solving
- participating in problem-solving by immersing oneself in the community
- planning sustainable initiatives in the region
